The consultants have been appointed to help the Council review its infrastructure delivery plan and to set the rates for the levy, which is charged on new development to secure funding for infrastructure.
The consultants have been tasked with helping the Council to update its infrastructure delivery plan which must be done before it can implement CIL, as well as developing an infrastructure funding mechanism
The consultants will also advise the Council on its preparation of viability evidence, which will be used to demonstrate that the Council's levies have been set at an appropriate rate. The consultants will make recommendation for the proposed charges in the Council's CIL Charging Schedule.
The consultant team is led by Stephen Miles of DTZ with support from Tom Bridges of Arup.
“CIL represents an important tool for generating revenue for Bradford’s infrastructure needs and the work being commissioned will provide a vital evidence base to inform the Council’s decision on whether or not to implement CIL and if so, on what," said Stephen Miles of DTZ.
"Bradford is a large and diverse area and CIL offers the opportunity to assist the delivery of the Council’s regeneration and growth agenda if implemented smartly,” said Miles.
