Carlsberg seeks development partner for 22 acre Leeds regeneration

Danish drink company Carlsberg is seeking a development partner for the regeneration of its 22 acre Tetley brewery in Leeds, following closure of the brewery in 2008.

Arup and Colliers International have been instructed as development managers for the scheme and Carlsberg has instructed them to offer the former Tetley brewery to the market during the first three months of 2012.

A masterplan for the project will be decided when a developer has been chosen. Arup and Colliers hope to have selected a developer by the end of 2012.

It is thought that the masterplan will propose a mixed use development that will include employment and residential space.

The 22 acre Tetley brewery development will be part of a 40 acre regeneration scheme taking place on the south of the River Aire, known as Leeds South Bank.

The whole regeneration project will include land owned by the council, Northern Irish developer McAleer & Rushe and local occupier Asda.
