The second, and last, phase of the development will include the demolition of a number of 1960s blocks on the site comprising 152 homes. These will be replaced by 364 new homes in four buildings as well as new landscaped public open space and public realm.
The plans will complete the implementation of the 480-home masterplan for the site, the first phase of which was approved in 2008 and has been completed.
“The first phase of the regeneration of Leopold looks fantastic and sold really well," said Countryside deputy chairman Richard Cherry according to a report by Estates Gazette. "I’m confident this new phase will be equally successful. We are delighted to be working with Poplar HARCA and local residents to complete the regeneration of Leopold."
“The designs by Metropolitan Workshop bring plenty of open space to a high-density development. It is no mean feat to achieve this and we look forward to seeing it come to fruition for the benefit of local people,” Cherry added.
