The Mayor was due to make a decision on the proposals at a public hearing on 26 February. However, the meeting has been cancelled after a third party requested a delay of the hearing to allow further discussions.
"The Mayor has received a request from a third party to the application to delay the representational hearing so that further discussions can take place with the applicant," said a spokesman for Boris Johnson according to local reports.
"The Mayor agreed to this on Monday and a new hearing date will be scheduled in due course," said the spokesperson.
The proposals, which Oakmayne first submitted to Southwark Council more than four years ago, involve the demolition of the existing office building on the site, Eileen House, and the construction of a new tower to comprise over 300 new flats as well as 4,785 square metres of office space, shops and a new public square.
The Council's planning committee advised Johnson in November 2011 that it was minded to refuse the application and the Mayor subsequently notified the Council that he would determine the application.
The Mayor originally scheduled a public hearing to take place in March last year, however, that meeting was subsequently cancelled.
