Plans for £100m mixed use Greater Manchester scheme submitted

Developer Foxdenton, a joint venture between construction firm Seddon and property company Grasscroft, have submitted plans to Oldham Council for a mixed-use business park at Chadderton, which will include 500 new homes.

Proposals for the 121 acre scheme include the creation of a logistics hub spanning 700,000 square feet to comprise office and manufacturing space. 500 new family homes, 20 acres of public open space and a new link road to run through the site also form part of the plans.

The site has been earmarked for residential and employment development in Oldham Council's Local Development Framework.

The developer said it expects the scheme to create more than 1,500 full time jobs once completed, as well as 165 jobs per year during the construction phase.

“These plans will create a sustainable and thriving community with significant benefits to the local economy through new employment opportunities and high-quality, new housing which will both meet the needs of existing residents and attract new people to the area,” said Foxdenton's Michael Coulter according to local reports.
