Carey advises on complex, high-value construction, engineering and commercial disputes across the infrastructure and energy sectors, with particular experience in adjudication and arbitration proceedings on major projects in South Africa and the Middle East.
Carey has acted in a broad range of cross-border matters for local and international clients, with experience under the rules of the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA), the Association of Arbitrators (AoA) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), as well as before the South African courts.
She advises project stakeholders (including contractors, employers etc.) on both standard form and bespoke construction contracts and has significant experience in the resolution of both upstream and downstream disputes arising throughout the lifecycle of major projects. Her experience includes advising on significant infrastructure and energy projects, including the Medupi and Kusile Power Stations.
