Xiao Hui Eng is an English-qualified lawyer specialising in complex international arbitrations, including in particular, high-value construction, infrastructure and energy-related disputes, and investment treaty arbitrations.

Xiao Hui Eng is an English-qualified international disputes lawyer specialising in complex international arbitrations, including in particular, high-value construction, infrastructure and energy-related disputes. She has experience of both Counsel and Tribunal Secretary work under the rules of the major arbitral institutions, as well as experience of obtaining interim relief in court proceedings in support of arbitration. She also practises in investment treaty arbitration, drawing on her background in public international law.

Xiao Hui specialises in high-stakes, politically sensitive disputes, including those involving sovereign states and state-owned entities, sanctions-related disputes, and disputes involving conflicts of laws and conflicts of forums issues. Her clients have included states and state-owned entities, global corporations in the construction, infrastructure, oil, energy, life sciences, insurance and shipping sectors, listed and non-listed enterprises, corporate trustees and high net worth individuals.

Prior to practising as a lawyer, Xiao Hui held roles in academia including a Research Fellowship at the British Institute of International and Comparative law, and taught in the field of public international law. She has also worked within the UN system in the field of political affairs.
