Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons won M&A Team of the Year (medium deal), TMT Team of the Year and Litigation & Dispute Resolution Team of the Year at the British Legal Awards 2022.

The firm scooped the TMT award for its role advising on the Lloyd v Google landmark Supreme Court data privacy ruling. Led by partner David Barker, the firm represented Google securing a definitive ruling on the viability of opt-out class actions in a data privacy context.

The firm’s role advising NatWest Group on the landmark PPI case secured a win in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution category. Partner Joanne Gillies led a team advising the bank on the case which redefined the parameters for PPI claims in the County Court system.

Pinsent Masons’ support advising infrastructure, energy and real estate consultants Turner & Townsend (T&T) on a novel partnership structure with commercial real estate services business CBRE secured the M&A medium deal award for the firm. Lead partner Andrew Black and his team advised longstanding client T&T on the project which enabled both businesses to accelerate growth in the energy and infrastructure markets.

Senior partner at Pinsent Masons, Andrew Masraf, said:

“We are proud to see that our work supporting our clients on genuinely transformational projects has been recognised. Securing three awards at the British Legal Awards is testament to our innovative approach to legal services, demonstrating the value we add when collaborating with our clients.

“As we advance our strategy as a purpose-led professional services firm with law at its core, it’s encouraging and motivating for all of our people to have their hard work celebrated.”

Law.com described Pinsent Masons as the most celebrated law firm of its 13th annual British Legal Awards which celebrates achievements from across the private practice and in-house legal profession.
