Development plans include the construction of up to 1,683 new homes on four plots as well as a hotel, business space, shops, leisure and community facilities. A new application for outline permission had been submitted because the proposed development varied from the approved 2004 masterplan in respect of building and plot arrangements, building height and land use.
The revised scheme did not include the provision of any affordable housing on the six plots, which would be a departure from the 38% affordable housing envisaged in the masterplan.
The planning board last month agreed to modify the section 106 agreement for the scheme to reduce the overall amount of affordable housing required to 25%, with the result that no affordable housing would be required on the four residential plots forming part of this application.
The final grant of planning permission is subject to referral of the application to the Mayor of London.
