The Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) findings have shown that the demand for luxury houses in London is currently higher than before the economic crisis. A CEBR report said that the luxury housing market is "storming ahead" .

The research found that 1,387 houses were sold last year at more than £2 million, compared with 1,297 in 2011. Sales of homes with a price of over £2 million had also increased by 14.5% since the peak level of 2007.

The average price of a luxury London home reached £3.75m last year and it is expected that this could rise up to £3.81m this year. Among the top ten most expensive houses sold in London last year, the average price was £25.3 million, compared with £14.5 million in 2011.
