Coseley Eco Park will provide 200 new homes, 400,000 square feet of commercial space, a food store and a wholesale retail warehouse. The masterplan also outlines plans for on-site renewable electricity generation.
The overall scheme will save up to 4,574 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, equivalent to taking over 1,986 cars off the road, Skelton said.
The 66-acre site will also provide around 2.75 hectares of public open space and a recycling store.
Dudley Borough Council’s planning committee is expected to consider the application at the beginning of 2012 and, subject to planning permission, work would commence on the development at the beginning of 2013.
