As well as the new homes, the £612 million 'Lincolnshire Lakeside' project will comprise a new primary school, a youth centre, community centre and a health centre. Lakes, parkland, natural landscapes, play areas and sport pitches will be spread across the development. The Lucent Group said the scheme had been designed to "promote village life".
The Council and the developer held public exhibitions on the proposed scheme earlier this year. The Council is expected to launch a formal consultation on the planning application later this month.
Lucent Group chief executive Charles Flynn said it was hoped that the new type of model village would be used by planners and others in the industry as an example of how development can be "ambitious and sensitive to local needs" according to local reports.
"Our proposal will not only help to meet existing demand and house the many families who will be drawn to the area because of the exciting opportunities of the South Humber Gateway, it will also help to unlock infrastructure investment such as a new M181 junction to improve access routes to the motorway and make the area more accessible," Flynn said.
