Three Rivers consults on CIL draft charging schedule

Three Rivers District Council has published its community infrastructure levy (CIL) draft charging schedule (DCS) for consultation, proposing residential rates of up to £180 per square metre.

The Council has proposed in its DCS (5-page / 1.9 MB PDF) to divide the district into three zones for residential development excluding retirement housing, applying a different rate in each zone.

Residential development in Zone A, which covers the central part of the district including Chorleywood, Rickmansworth and Croxley Green, will be charged a proposed rate of £180 per sq m. In Zone B, covering the northeast of the district including Kings Langley, Abbots Langley, Leavesden and Eastbury, a rate of £120 per sq m is proposed. A nil rate is proposed for residential development in Zone C, which covers the southeast of the district including Tolpits and South Oxhey.

District-wide rates of £120 per sq m for hotel and retirement housing developments and £60 for retail developments are proposed in the DCL.

A district-wide nil rate is proposed for all other development.

The closing date for the consultation is 4 August.
