Abhay advises financial services and fintech businesses on licensing, authorisation and the regulatory treatment of new products, with particular experience in payments, virtual assets and tokenisation. He supports clients from assessing regulatory requirements through to authorisation and launch.

Abhay is an Associate in the Financial Regulation and FinTech practice, advising brokers, payment and e-money institutions, credit providers, investment firms, and digital asset businesses across the Middle East.

A significant part of his practice focuses on market entry and regulatory perimeter analysis, helping businesses determine in which jurisdiction and under which regulatory regime they should be established, what permissions and licences are required, and the governance, policy and compliance arrangements regulators expect before granting authorisation.

He also advises clients on the development and restructuring of financial products and services, including retail payment services, stored-value and e-money propositions, credit offerings, investment products, virtual asset services and tokenised instruments. His work involves assessing how products are characterised from a regulatory perspective, what activities may be carried on, the customers to whom they may be offered, and how regulatory obligations change when a product, business model or rulebook is adapted across different jurisdictions.
