Senior Practice Development Lawyer
Sarah is a Senior Practice Development Lawyer in Pinsent Masons’ European IP practice.
Formerly a practicing patent litigator, she specialises in contentious European patent matters. She advises and supports her team and clients on all aspects of patent law and litigation strategy across all sectors, with a particular focus on Life Sciences and Technology. Sarah studied Natural Sciences, specialising in physiology.
Sarah supports and works closely with the European patents team, and is responsible for a wide range of practice development activities.
She leads on a number of knowledge-based and innovative initiatives to enhance the patent team's visibility and develop the services offered. A key part of Sarah's role is educating the team, developing internal and client facing know-how materials, and ensuring that legal knowledge is shared and up-to-date.
Sarah is often asked to comment on patent issues by the main industry press as well as wider media. She leads on the team’s thought-leadership initiatives, and regularly contributes to a variety of external publications. Sarah is a member of the Editorial Board of The Patent Lawyer.
Sarah has been following the setting up of the Unitary Patent and Unified Patent Court (UPC), leading on a number of UPC knowledge-based initiatives to enhance the patent team's visibility and develop the services offered. She is able to use her knowledge and expertise to help clients to shape legal strategies that take account of the changes and opportunities offered by the UPC.
