Pinsent Masons MPillay to launch consulting service in Singapore

20 Apr 2018 | 10:41 am | 1 min. read

Pinsent Masons MPillay is set to launch its flexible consulting service, Vario, in Singapore.

This represents another step in the firm's expansion of innovative services, which saw it take the Vario model to Australia in July 2017. The firm is witnessing increased client demand for its flexible lawyer solution globally and is enhancing its services for clients across APAC.

Pinsent Masons MPillay will formally launch this service in mid 2018 led by Kate Cauldwell-Hunt who will transfer from the UK. Kate will be working closely with Vario Australia to engage with organisations operating within and into Singapore, whilst building the local network of consultants.

Pinsent Masons MPillay plans to appoint 30 consultants to the Singaporean bench over the coming six months.

Matthew Kay, Director of Vario, said:

“Singapore is a buoyant market where clients have a clear appetite for innovation. Vario Singapore will be providing fresh opportunities to both legal professionals and organisations that are looking for flexibility in the workplace.

The Singaporean market is very different from that of the UK and Australia. However, there is strong demand from our clients for a service such as this and we know that legal professionals across the world are seeking different ways of working.

One thing that will not change is our rigorous commitment to providing legal professionals who are technically skilled and have been professionally assessed as suited to consulting. This is one of our differentiators and will continue to be so, wherever the services launches next."

Also commenting on the expansion was Mohan Pillay, Partner and Joint Head of Office for Singapore, who said:

"The Singaporean market forms a strategic and key part of the firm's overall growth plans. We have invested heavily in bringing new services and offices to Asia and this launch is a part of our overall plan and commitment to the region.

We anticipate this service expanding into additional countries across Asia; this as a reflection of the opportunities we are seeing and the growth that we are planning for.

Pinsent Masons MPillay is a key hub in Pinsent Masons Asia Pacific network, serving clients in the infrastructure, energy, technology and financial services industries both across Asia and worldwide
