Mayor of London Boris Johnson will draw up a new infrastructure plan to guide infrastructure development in the capital, Deputy Mayor Sir Edward Lister has said according to Planning Magazine.

In a meeting last week at the Greater London Authority, Lister said that in the future, the London Plan, the Mayor's 2020 Vision and a new infrastructure plan would make up the three key planning documents for the capital. He said that the new infrastructure plan would have to be a "proper piece of work" which would justify infrastructure work across London, according to Planning Magazine.

"It’ll take some time, we haven’t started doing the detailed work on it, so it is still some way away. But we need to get it out relatively soon and we’re looking at that," Lister said according to the reports. He added that the infrastructure plan could potentially stretch as far as to 2050.

Lister also said that a proposed review of the London Plan was likely to result in "significant changes" to the document, including different town centre policies and amendments to reflect policies introduced by the National Planning Policy Framework.
