Gijs advises multi-national clients operating in technology and industry on information technology and internet-related matters with particular emphasis on IP, Data protection, Media and e-Commerce/platform laws. Gijs also represents global clients before Dutch courts and public bodies, in the space of Freedom of Information and advertising complaints.

Gijs has in-depth knowledge on various aspects of technology law, most notably in intellectual property, information technology, data protection and digital advertising. He graduated in 2016 from the VU University Amsterdam on copyright infringement on the internet.
Gijs focuses on matters with particular emphasis on cross-border regulatory projects and platforms in the digital environment, including advice on (inter)national IP ownership and infringement issues. Further, Gijs has been involved in numerous proceedings in the Netherlands related to complex and extensive requests for information based on the Freedom of Information Act, acting for multinational clients against the disclosure of confidential proprietary information. He also regularly advises domestic and international clients on data protection and data breach issues.
