Manchester City Football Club Limited
Acting in conjunction with an independent KC since 2016 on Manchester City Football Club’s inquiry into non-recent child allegations at the club, our team delivered a retrospective review, examining if, and to what extent, the club was used by serial paedophile Barry Bennell to commit acts of child sexual abuse during the 1970s and 80s. The instruction also included a current review of existing safeguarding practices.
Advising a joint venture contractor on a major infrastructure project in the Northern Territory including assisting with a public inquiry.
Advised Abbey Glen, a commercial laundry business, on appealing an Enforcement Notice issued by Sheffield City Council due to environmental complaints, and represented them throughout the Public Inquiry process.
Advised Limekiln Extension Ltd on its objection to the Strathy South Wind Farm Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO), participating in Public Inquiry proceedings and securing the removal of key land plots from the Order, protecting critical construction access and enabling a voluntary resolution.
Advised a medical device manufacturer on the defence of claims alleging defect and incorrect marketing of medical devices. A large number of claimants have raised claims against medical in-vitro mesh products alleging injury and ongoing disability in consequence of alleged defect in the medical products. The issue was subject also to Parliamentary hearings and inquiry.
Advising 4 individual Directors/ Senior Managers of the main refurbishment contractor on Grenfell Tower regarding being witnesses at the public inquiry and the ongoing police investigation.
Acting for Hanson Plc on a Welsh Assembly call-in inquiry into the level of tolls for the Humber Bridge.
Acting as agent to the Treasury Solicitor on the Al-Sweady Inquiry, which was commissioned to investigate and report on allegations of unlawful killing by British soldiers at Camp Abu Naji in 2004 and the ill-treatment of five Iraqi nationals detained at the camp and subsequently at the divisional temporary detention facility at Shaibah Logistics Base, also in 2004.
