Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has advised Monaco Energies Renouvelables in connection with the refinancing by Société Générale and Unifergie of 12 photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of around 100MW.
The refinancing will facilitate the repowering of the portfolio of photovoltaic power plants which were commissioned between 2013 and 2015 and have an average operating life of over six years.
Pinsent Masons advised Monaco Energies Renouvelables on all aspects of the refinancing including public law, energy and real estate law, corporate and financing. The team was led by finance and projects partner, Eran Chvika, and included Charles Bressant and Léa Fournier.
Eran Chvika said: “This transaction is a flagship for Monaco Energies Renouvelables. The success of this refinancing demonstrates the appetite in the lending sector in France for renewable energies regardless of a challenging economic situation. My team was delighted to assist Monaco Energies Renouvelables again, having previously advised them on the acquisition of this portfolio in 2021.”
This refinancing marks the achievement of a key milestone in the development of Monaco Energies Renouvelables’ business and of the Principality of Monaco's long-term positioning towards the energy transition.
