International law firm Pinsent Masons has advised RPMI Railpen on its $200m commitment to a joint venture with The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation and the Public Institution for Social Security of Kuwait.
The innovative joint venture among asset owners, Capital Constellation, will invest in next generation private equity and alternative investment managers. Together, the joint venture partners will initially commit $700 million and Constellation is expected to deploy over $1.5 billion in investment capital over the next five years. Constellation will be advised by Wafra, a leading manager of private equity and alternative assets.
The Pinsent Masons team acting on the transaction was led by investment funds partners Ian Warner and David Young with investment funds senior associate Oliver Crowley, tax partner Eloise Walker and tax senior associate Jeremy Webster.
Commenting on the deal, Ian Warner said:
