International law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed Pablo Dorronsoro as partner to lead its public law practice in Madrid.

Joining from Baker McKenzie Madrid where he headed up the Public Law and infrastructure department, Pablo will work across the firm's energy, infrastructure and technology sectors. Pablo's public law and regulatory expertise will be crucial in supporting these sectors in Spain.

Pablo has worked at the Ministry of Interior and the National Superior Court of Justice (Audiencia Nacional). Pablo is a Abogado del Estado (a State lawyer) and has served as an arbitrator for the Spanish Court of Arbitration. He is also a professor on administrative litigation at ICADE.

Diego Lozano, head of Pinsent Masons in Madrid, says: "We wish to differentiate Pinsent Masons in the Spanish market and believe our focus on our sectors and innovative approach to legal service delivery is the best way to achieve this. Pablo’s excellent public law experience and great reputation in the market will help us to ensure we are able to provide the best service for our clients and further develop the firm's offering in Spain."

Pablo Dorronsoro added: "Pinsent Masons is focused on two of my core specialist sectors, Energy & Infrastructure, which presents a very exciting opportunity for me. Joining this international network of skilled lawyers means Pinsent Masons Madrid will be able to provide high profile regulatory advice across the whole asset life cycle. The firm’s innovative approach to delivering legal services is also embedded in this fledgling office and I’m proud to become a part of this fast-growing team.”

This is the third partner hire in the Madrid office this year, following the appointment of Paloma Bru and Paula Fernández-Longoria to the TMT team. The total number of partners in Madrid is 10.

The firm has recently moved to its new offices at Serrano 90 in the Salamanca district.
