Japanese videogame giant Nintendo will be sanctioned by the European Commission over violation of EU anti-trust legislation, the Wall Street Journal reports. The Commission has apparently found that Nintendo was preventing sales of consoles and games from one EU Member State to another to keep prices higher.

According to the Wall Street Journal, which cites an unnamed source at Nintendo's US unit, the company is expecting a fine to be announced by the Commission within the next 10 days, and has already put an "adequate" amount of money into reserve for that purpose.

Nintendo has reportedly already changed its European distribution arrangements to comply with EU laws.
