Credit Suisse Group has admitted that it accidentally displayed bank account details of clients including the former James Bond star, Roger Moore, on its web site for one week before the error was spotted.

The Swiss bank said the breach of confidentiality was not its fault. According to reports, it claimed that the data had been forwarded in error to an insecure test section of its internet-banking service by Swissperform, a body that pays royalties to performers based in Switzerland.

According to a German newspaper, the details of 675 transfers of funds were publicly available on the site. A spokesman for the bank said he could not confirm that report.
