Westminster approves £325m central London office to home conversion

Westminster City Council's planning committee has resolved to grant planning permission for the construction of 148 new homes at Carey Street in London's WC2.

Under the plans the existing 1960s office block on the site will be demolished and a new nine floor building will be built to comprise 148 flats.

The site was sold by property unit trust WELPUT to Indian investor Lodha Group.

Grant of planning permission will be subject to the completion of a Section 106 Agreement which is proposed to include a £9.98 million contribution to Westminster Council's affordable housing fund.
