Developer Orchid Putney has been granted planning consent to redevelop four office buildings into a £100 million mixed-use scheme situated opposite East Putney Underground station in London.

The redevelopment includes the construction of four new buildings, the tallest of which will stand 40 metres tall and will consist of 11 storeys. The smallest will be 25m tall and will have 7 storeys. The new towers will replace the existing office buildings at 84-88 Upper Richmond Road.

The new towers will contain 148 new residential units, together with 13,078 square feet of new office space and 6,458 sq ft of new flexible retail space and restaurants.

Consent has also been given for a 65 space basement car park along with the provision of 178 cycle parking spaces whilst new landscaping will create a new pedestrian route from Woodlands Way to Upper Richmond Road.

A community play area is to be included in the scheme, along with new allotments and a communal garden.

Developer Orchid Putney secured planning permission from the London Borough of Wandsworth on the condition that it will contribute more than £1 million towards local infrastructure upgrades.

"This tired, empty office complex is the first thing people see when they step out of East Putney station. The new development would be a vast improvement and offers a much better first impression of the town centre," said Nick Cuff, Wandsworth Council's planning chairman.
