Annelle is a trusted adviser to employers on both the strategic and operational dimensions of South African employment law. She has particular expertise in complex, cross-border and cross-cultural workplace investigations across Africa and the Middle East, experience that gives her a practical understanding of the sensitivities that large international employers face when managing workplace disputes across different jurisdictions and cultural contexts.

Annelle advises employers across the full spectrum of South African employment law, combining strategic insight with practical experience in complex workplace matters. She has particular expertise in cross-border and cross-cultural workplace investigations spanning Africa and the Middle East.

Her contentious practice covers retrenchments, dismissals, discrimination, sexual harassment, unfair labour practices, health and safety, employee transfers and debarment. She has a particular strength in restraints of trade and the protection of employers' proprietary interests.

Her non-contentious work includes drafting employment contracts, workplace policies and compliance frameworks for businesses entering or restructuring within the South African market. She also has extensive experience in employment due diligence and advising on the workforce dimensions of domestic and cross-border M&A and restructurings.

Annelle advises on the interplay between South Africa's employment laws and the Companies Act, including matters concerning directorships, and regularly assists clients with workforce data protection and POPIA compliance.
